The Dispatcher & Customer Service Specialist is the heartbeat of arenaflex’s safety operations. This position serves as the first point of contact for a wide range of calls—from routine service requests to critical incidents such as crimes, traffic accidents, and medical emergencies. By expertly managing communications, dispatching security and police officers, and providing top‑tier customer service, you will directly influence the safety, satisfaction, and overall experience of the entire arenaflex community.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi‑Line Call Management: Answer multiple phone lines simultaneously, triage incoming calls, and prioritize responses based on urgency and nature of the incident.
- Emergency Dispatch: Quickly and accurately dispatch security personnel, police officers, fire services, and medical responders to incidents across campus, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, guiding them to appropriate resources, locations, and services.
- Visitor Interaction: Greet guests, handle monetary transactions, issue ID cards, and deliver clear directions on parking, campus navigation, and safety procedures.
- Background Checks & Fingerprinting: Conduct background checks and fingerprinting services for campus affiliates, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Patrol Support: Assist with foot, bike, cart, or motor‑vehicle patrols of campus property as needed, reinforcing a visible security presence.
- Access Control: Secure and unlock buildings, rooms, and facilities under the direction of senior security staff, ensuring proper authorization at all times.
- Safety Observation & Reporting: Monitor for irregularities, security breaches, and safety hazards; promptly report findings and coordinate with emergency responders.
- Key & Equipment Management: Maintain control of issued keys and equipment, safeguarding assets and preventing unauthorized use.
- Documentation & Data Entry: Prepare standardized reports, update activity logs, and perform accurate data entry and retrieval to support operational transparency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with security officers, administrative staff, and campus leadership to ensure seamless communication and coordinated response efforts.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a role with substantial public contact, preferably in a safety, security, or customer‑service environment.
- Clean criminal record; ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances.
- Proficient typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Familiarity with standard computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice, public safety, or a related field is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for report generation and data management.
