This position is for a freelance Content & Social Media Strategist to support the development and management of LinkedIn, blog, and digital content to advance our consulting work in genomics, diagnostics, and precision medicine. This role will help establish and deepen Boston Health Partners' presence across digital platforms, driving engagement with healthcare professionals, researchers, patients, and industry partners. The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of experience managing social media accounts and producing written content within a genomics, diagnostics, or precision medicine context. Strong writing skills are essential, as is the ability to translate complex scientific and clinical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both professional and general audiences. Experience with short-form content, blog writing, and LinkedIn strategy is highly valued. This position is well suited for a professional with a background in science communications or health marketing who has hands-on experience running digital content campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content production and scheduling — End-to-end management of Boston Health Partners' primary digital channels, including LinkedIn and the company blog.
  • Genomics & precision medicine content — Translate research findings, diagnostic innovations, and clinical insights into engaging posts, articles, and explainers accessible to both scientific and lay audiences.
  • Blog strategy and writing — Develop and maintain a regular cadence of long-form blog content covering topics in genomics, diagnostics, precision medicine, and health innovation.
  • LinkedIn strategy — Build and execute a LinkedIn content strategy tailored to healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry stakeholders, including thought leadership posts and company updates.
  • Content Toolkit development — Build a reusable content resource — a living document with pre-approved messaging frameworks, topic banks, tone guidelines, and escalation protocols for handling audience inquiries across channels.
  • Monthly strategic reviews — Participate in monthly sessions with key stakeholders to assess content performance, adjust priorities, identify collaboration opportunities, and plan upcoming campaigns.
  • Visual and multimedia assets — Produce graphics, short-form video assets, or animated explainers optimized for professional and caregiver audiences across platforms.
  • Podcast content amplification — repurpose podcast episodes into social media posts, quote graphics, blog content, and newsletter features across BHP's channels, in coordination with the podcast's content calendar (approximately bi-weekly cadence)

Additional Expectations

  • Meet with Boston Health Partners leadership to review upcoming content, coordinate cross-channel efforts, and discuss strategic priorities and partnerships.
  • Stay current on developments in genomics, diagnostics, and precision medicine to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice that reflects Boston Health Partners' commitment to scientific rigor, innovation, and accessible health communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in health sciences with a demonstrated familiarity in genomics, diagnostics, or precision medicine.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, content strategy, or science communications.
  • Strong writing portfolio that demonstrates the ability to translate complex scientific content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing LinkedIn company pages and executing professional audience engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency with social media scheduling tools, analytics platforms, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe).
  • Experience working with healthcare or biotech organizations is a plus.
  • Experience repurposing podcast or long-form audio/video content into social and written formats is a plus
