Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant - Data Entry Specialist to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring accurate and efficient data entry processes
- Contributing to the smooth functioning of the medical practice
- Providing exceptional support to our Cardiologist/Surgeon client
- Working effectively in the Mountain Time zone to align with client schedules
Key Responsibilities
* Data Entry: + Accurately and efficiently enter patient data into our electronic health record system + Review and audit data entry work to ensure accuracy and quality + Identify and resolve data entry errors or discrepancies
- Referral Management:
+ Review incoming referrals and ensure accurate and timely data entry + Log into hospital portals to retrieve patient records and attach them to the patient's chart + Rename records and attach them to the patient's chart as necessary
- Team Support:
+ Provide data entry support to the rest of the team as needed + Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and efficient data entry processes
- Communication:
+ Communicate effectively with the team and clients to ensure seamless data entry processes + Respond to queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
* 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in a US healthcare setting
- Proven experience in data entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Experience with data entry and auditing of team work
- Experience with reviewing referrals, logging into hospital portals, renaming records, and attaching records
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work effectively in the Mountain Time zone to align with client schedules
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Essential Qualifications
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. healthcare administration, medical records)
- 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in a US healthcare setting
- Proven experience in data entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g. CMA, RMA)
- Experience working in a medical practice or healthcare organization
- Familiarity with hospital portals and electronic health record systems
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
