Key Responsibilities:

• Provide primary, preventive, and rehabilitative care to students and staff, including chronic disease management, health screenings, and medication management
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and severe allergies
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to promote a healthy school environment and support student learning
• Provide health education and counseling to students, parents, and staff on various health topics, including nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention
• Participate in infectious disease control and surveillance, including immunization monitoring and follow-up

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a BS Degree in Nursing, including a Public Health nursing rotation
• 6-12 months of professional nursing experience in a public health setting or related environment, preferably with 12 months of demonstrated experience in a specialty area
• Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
• National Certification in School Nursing required within three years of employment
