Senior Business Analyst

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Analyst in one of our following office locations:

  • Naperville, IL
  • Rolling Meadows, IL
  • Kansas City, MO
  • Raleigh, NC
  • Milwaukee, WI

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong P&C experience as well as experience with Duck Creek Policy. This position works closely with Business Solutions Leads, Architects, and other key IT resources to drive the panning and definition of new technology solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. This position also is responsible for training, managing and leading other Business Analysts in project execution and ensuring high quality requirements. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in business process definition and documentation of Business Process Flows.
  • Owns the creation of Business Requirements and Business Requirement Documents.
  • Owns the translation of Business Requirements into Functional requirements to be used for development.
  • Able to organize, coordinate, and drive Functional Design Documents for new applications and existing application enhancements.
  • Able to work with technical resources to ensure the effective translation of the functional design into technical design.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop strong relationships with key business resources.
  • Assures effective utilization of software by developing and maintaining the expertise of the business process, product features, function capabilities, and transactions.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technology-related field with 5 years of related experience or equivalent experience
  • Equivalent experience is defined as 9+ years of related experience
  • Background in and/ or internship in system development and/ or business analysis is required.
  • Basic knowledge of business problems and identifying solutions
  • Basic working knowledge of a system development methodology
  • Proven strong analytical skills, especially with spreadsheets, MS PowerPoint presentations, word processing, and visual business process tools such as MS Visio.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage details, and execute effective follow-through
  • Ability to learn new applications and systems concepts
  • Proven analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to display a continued commitment to expanding knowledge base through personal initiative and industry-sponsored courses/seminars
  • Ability to continue education and stay up-to-date on technical developments
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight timeframes with high standards, and bring about effective action through direction, example, and a collaborative team atmosphere

Preferred to Have:
  • 2+ years P & C insurance experience preferred.

Compensation:Please note, if you live in Illinois, the typical salary range for this role will be $80,800 to $127,900. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position in that location. Actual salary will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
