At Chewy, it is our mission to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers! Our Opportunity: Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Supply Chain technology team in Bellevue, WA, Minneapolis, MN or Boston, MA. This technical leader will work autonomously to design and build high complexity components and/or systems. This individual will partner with both technical and business teams on multiple initiatives, provide guidance and mentorship to the existing team, and collaborate to deliver new features and improvements! We continue to grow and always Think Big about new innovative ideas, while consistently exploring opportunities to differentiate ourselves in the industry. What You’ll Do: • Actively guide Team Members and participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using an agile methodology • Communicate project status, risks, and solutions to team and partners, and act as technical point of contact to influence collaborators regarding trade-offs • Ensure that technical solutions for your team follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable, and are scalable under sustained load • Design, develop and maintain Tier 1 system for cartonization using AWS services. • Software Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in software engineering. What You’ll Need: • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar; or equivalent experience • 7+ years of software engineering experience • Extensive experience with AWS data services, including but not limited to AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3 • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.
