SUMMARY The online certified teacher effectively manages the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct online students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grades Kindergarten - 3 Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 OR Arizona Early Childhood Certificate, Birth to Age-8 Grades 4-5 Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Certain endorsement/approved areas(s) may be required for highly qualified/appropriately certified purposes. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience teaching in a virtual environment. Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. COMMENTS Effective: 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR Location: Tucson Unified Virtual Academy - Remote FTE: 1.0 – 7.5 hours per day Work Calendar: 9.5 month Grade Levels currently available: • Kindergarten - 2 positions • 1st Grade - 2 positions • 2nd Grade - 2 positions • 3rd Grade - 2 positions • 4th Grade - 2 positions • 5th Grade - 2 positions This position is funded through the ESSER Grant. There is potential that this position may end when grant funding expires. The ESSER Grant is expected to last for three years. Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
