Only candidates with at least one of these four profiles will be considered for the critic role.A passion for comic books, writing reviews, and a drive to grow within the industry.Broad working knowledge of Movies & TV, including:Disney, MCU, DCU, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, Breaking Bad, The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, Invincible, Sitcoms, animated series, Law & Order, NCIS, CSI, Chicago P.D., and Grey’s Anatomy.Up to date with new shows and movies.The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims.A sharp eye for grammatical details.Excellent command of the English language.Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times.Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment.Should possess a general understanding of movie and TV culture and strong research skills.ResponsibilitiesKeep up to date with new shows and movies, watching new episodes or films as soon as they release (or earlier) in order to have reviews ready for embargo/release.Reviews will be assigned based on each writer’s expertise and CBR’s needs.Fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing.Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team.Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team.What CBR has to offerFully remote — write from wherever you’d like!Set your own schedule.Opportunities to pitch and write your own original ideas.Several helpful guides that you can refer to even after training to grow your writing portfolio and skills.Incredible opportunities for career growth within a supportive system.An amazing community of like-minded people to nerd-out with on a daily basis.NOTE: Only applications containing a resume and cover letter will be considered.
