Solutions Architect

Candidates must live in the Milwaukee, WI area in order to be eligible.Expedient has an immediate need for a Solutions Architect (SA) in Milwaukee, WI to design and develop technical solutions for our clients. This position works directly with clients as well as the Expedient sales teams and requires a strong understanding of solution design, business, and the financial benefits of technology. The Solutions Architect will provide deep industry perspective and expert-level knowledge to design solutions for our clients. This is THE subject-matter expert for our sales teams and for our clients on the technology that Expedient provides and maintains. The SA will cover Expedient's Milwaukee, WI market as well as Expedient's Cleveland, Ohio market.Sponsorship is not provided for this position.Responsibilities:Client engagement to educate, develop, and present solutions that support desired business outcomesDevelop trusted-advisor status with client technologists and executive team membersCollaboration with internal Expedient teams to educate and develop new solutions for our clientsContinuous industry self-improvement and developmentAttend in-person and remote client meetings, marketing events, and trade showsQualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals, up to C-level executives, with varying technical skillsExperience with VMware virtualization with a focus on administration and designExperience with vCloud Director, NSX, and vSAN a plusDemonstrated experience in solution architecture and/or sales engineeringFamiliarity or experience with hyperscale platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience and certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX, VCDX, AWS Solutions Architect, etc. OR a bachelor’s degree in a technical disciplineFamiliarity or experience with any of the following technologies – Windows, Linux, Palo Alto, Nutanix, Zerto, VMware Horizon, Citrix, Cohesity, and CommvaultFamiliarity with Cloud Native technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic)Understanding of switching, routing, firewalling, and load balancingKnowledge of storage technologies including concepts such as RAID and Erasure CodingUnderstanding of network security conceptsFamiliarity with backup strategies and related backup technologyExperience with disaster recovery technologies and disaster recovery testing and planningAn understanding of database technologiesThe salary range provided here is an estimate based on the competitive job market in Milwaukee, WI. The exact salary for this position will be determined on a number of things including your experience, skills, proven sucesses and what you can bring to the role.
