What We're Looking for The City of Beverly Hills Police Department is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Pre-Service Police Officer. The Pre-Service Police Officer position is entry-level and Pre-Service Police Officers shall serve as non-sworn civilian employees until such time as they successfully graduates from the Police Academy and are sworn in as a Police Officer. These pre-service employees shall receive similar benefits as a sworn police officer with the exception of retirement and workers' compensation benefits. Disaster Service Workers All City of Beverly Hills employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the City requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency. • Performs duties to protect life and property. • Maintains law and order and responds to emergency calls. • May patrol the City enforcing the criminal and traffic laws of the City, State and Nation. • May perform investigations or training duties. • A.A. Degree or completion of at least 45 degree units at the time of testing and the commitment to complete an A.A. Degree or 60 units during the probationary period. The A.
