About the position As an Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor at Wilson Electric Services Corp., you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of aspiring electricians by providing high-quality education and training. Your primary responsibility will be to instruct students in the electrical apprenticeship program, ensuring they gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. This position requires a commitment to the philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of Central Arizona College, where you will be teaching various courses related to commercial electrical installation and safety. You will utilize the NCCER Core Curriculum, covering essential topics such as Electrical Circuits & Theory, the National Electrical Code, and Basic Electrical Construction Drawings. Your teaching methods will be diverse, incorporating lectures, laboratory sessions, and seminars, and you will adapt your approach to meet the needs of different learning styles. Additionally, you will be responsible for evaluating student performance, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of their progress. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to develop new courses and instructional materials, ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant and effective. You will assist in the recruitment and retention of students by implementing innovative teaching strategies and staying updated on trends in education and technology. Furthermore, you may be required to perform electrician duties as needed, contributing to the hands-on learning experience of your students. Responsibilities ? Teach Commercial Electrician Installer courses utilizing the NCCER Core Curriculum (CORE, Electrical Level I, & II), Electrical Trade, Safety, Electrical Circuits & Theory, the National Electrical Code, Device Boxes, Basic Electrical Construction Drawings, Test Equipment, Alternating Current, Motor Theory & Application, Lighting, Conduit Bending, etc. , ? Teach OSHA 30 or become an Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor, in accordance with the college workload policy and in various modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid, Interactive Television, Weekend College, accelerated, evening or late start classes). , ? Provide and present information through lectures, laboratories, recitations, seminars, and other learning venues utilizing various teaching/learning styles appropriate to the course content. , ? Employ a variety of assessment tools; evaluate grades and comments on student work to facilitate and ensure student progress throughout the course. , ? Communicate with students through email, online discussions, virtual chats, telephone, and face-to-face consultations to provide frequent feedback. , ? Establish and maintain office hours per college policy. , ? Maintain records of student progress and performance; complete and return required reports to the appropriate office by established due date. , ? Develop, prepare, and evaluate instructional materials; write and develop syllabi and course calendars. , ? Review and update course outlines, text selection, and syllabi in cooperation with other faculty and appropriate district academic chair or program director. , ? Propose and develop new courses, curriculum, programs, instructional materials, and evaluation tools as necessary to meet the needs of the students and community. , ? Assist in recruitment and retention of students through the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies primarily in the instructional setting. , ? Cultivate development of instructional programs and knowledge of trends, pedagogy, andragogy, and new technologies. , ? Perform duties as an electrician as needed or directed. Requirements ? Valid Journeyman License license. , ? Valid OSHA 30 certification. , ?
