Technical Writer

Do you love writing interactive narrative stories? Do you love working with AI tools to bring those stories to life?

Series Entertainment is seeking a talented Narrative Designer who will help concept, generate, write, script & implement story content for our upcoming story releases. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the interactive narrative space & AI prompting, strong communication skills, and a passion for creating high-quality stories, mobile games, and interactive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities with our creative & writing & AI tools to better enhance workflows that empower creativity while maximizing efficiency. Work with producers to bring those requests to life.

• Work with story teams to author outlines & scripts that bring our vision to life.

• Review and provide feedback on scripts, character designs, and storyboards.

• Ensure story consistency and a high level of quality in all released content.

• Implement scenes in our proprietary creation suite. Gather feedback and iteratively improve them.

• Be the bridge between production & our story team to educate writers on how to best use our creation tools.

• Design & oversee game systems in a narrative-minded paradigm.

• Collaborate with writers and technical teams to translate narrative visions into technical requirements.

• Train and educate a variety of creators and writers on new tooling & workflows being built.

• Leverage prompt engineering to create dynamic and interactive storytelling experiences.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in writing for Interactive Fiction.

• Proven experience in a narrative designer, prompt engineer, or equivalent role, with a strong portfolio of work.

• Proficient in interactive story development tools and techniques, such as, but not limited to, Ink, Twine, Yarnspinner, Choicescript, Python/Ren'Py.

• Experience with using a range of AI tools to create stories, such as, but not limited to, Sudowrite, NovelAI, and CharacterAI.

• Strong collaboration skills & the ability to self-manage when we need to divide & conquer.

• Strong interest in scripting languages to build narrative-driven experiences.

• Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications, English, Game Design, Screenwriting, Media Studies, or related field is a plus.

• Ability to effectively communicate between technical teams and non-technical writers. (or technical and nontechnical teams)

• Experience or interest in visual storytelling and an eye for integrating visual elements with narrative content is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering and agentic AI development is a plus.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the standout aspects of successful interactive stories is a plus.

This is a full-time position, and the AI Narrative Designer will work collaboratively with our design, art, and production teams to deliver world-class games and interactive experiences.
