Staff Accountant (QuickBooks)

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team and support the Corporate Controller in driving the financial success of our growing business. The Staff Accountant will assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and support the Corporate Controller in various day-to-day financial tasks. This position plays a key role in the financial reporting and operational support of our retail locations. Key Responsibilities: • General Ledger Maintenance: • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely. • Post daily sales, expenses, and other transactions for multiple store locations. • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure that all accounts are accurately maintained. • Accounts Payable & Receivable: • Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring that all invoices are paid on time and accurately recorded. • Assist with managing accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding invoices and processing customer payments. • Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided for all financial transactions and payments. • Bank Reconciliations: • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all business accounts, including retail locations and corporate accounts. • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with bank statements. • Financial Reporting & Analysis: • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders. • Support the Corporate Controller in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. • Provide financial analysis and variance reports to support decision-making. • Month-End & Year-End Close: • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately. • Prepare and assist with financial schedules and reports as needed for the year-end audit. • Other Accounting Support: • Provide general support to the Corporate Controller and other departments as needed. • Assist with special projects, system improvements, and process enhancements as needed. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or multi-location business environment. • Basic understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. • Extensive experience with QuickBooks. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, and other advanced functions). • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Knowledge of retail accounting or the optical industry is a plus but not required. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
