Power BI Developer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Power BI Developer, you will play a critical role in transforming complex data into insightful and user-friendly dashboards and reports that drive business decisions. Your expertise in data modeling, design visualization, and creating business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI will be integral to our organization’s success. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements for reporting and analytics. • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making. • Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create calculated measures and columns to enhance data models. • Transform raw data from various sources into meaningful insights using Power Query. • Perform data modeling and optimize the data structure for better performance in Power BI. • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to handle data from different sources. • Conduct quality assurance testing on reports to ensure accuracy and reliability. • Provide training and support to end-users in understanding and utilizing Power BI tools effectively. • Continuously monitor and evaluate existing reports and dashboards for improvements and updates. • Participate in data governance initiatives to maintain data integrity and security. • Work with SQL databases to extract and manipulate data as needed for analytics. • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new features in Power BI. • Create documentation for report and dashboard development processes. • Generate ad-hoc reports to support strategic planning. • Work closely with BI architects to align reporting solutions with the overall enterprise data strategy. Required Qualifications • 2-5 years of experience in the Design and Development of E2E BI & Analytics projects in a global enterprise environment. • Strong technical experience with Power BI, SSAS tabular modelling, Azure Data Factory and DAX on Azure Platform • T-SQL Experience (Root Cause load failures and fix; ability to review an existing T-SQL code block and quickly figure out code issues) • Good knowledge of database performance and tuning, troubleshooting and query optimization. • Proficient in Data warehouse design and BI application development • Deep understanding of writing SQL code and DAX functions. Nice To Have • Experience in Cloud Platforms, Azure technologies like Azure Analysis Services, etc. is good to have. • Experience in CRM systems like sales force is good to have. • Experience working with dataset ingestion, data model creation, reports, dashboards, etc is good to have. • Experience in other reporting tools is good to have. • Demonstrated Ability to use GIT, Jenkins and other change management tools is good to have. • Good knowledge of database performance and tuning, troubleshooting and query optimization.
