Part Time Biller

About the position Wound Care Advantage is seeking a detail-oriented part-time Medical Biller to join their team. This role is designed for individuals who want to make a difference in saving lives while enjoying a work-life balance. The position requires working on-site 1-2 days per week, with a maximum of 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and collections, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing and maximizing reimbursement for services provided. Responsibilities • Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors , • Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies , • Resolve billing issues and discrepancies , • Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe , • Utilize medical collection strategies to minimize accounts receivable , • Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion , • Process payments from insurance companies and patients , • Work on complete reconciliation process on accounts receivables (A/R) , • Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided , • Prepare accurate statements for patients based on the payments received from their insurance company/companies , • Understand external rules and regulations as they relate to healthcare billing and collections , • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required Requirements • Minimum 2 years billing experience preferred , • Proven work experience as a Medical Biller or similar role , • Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes and ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes preferred , • Strong attention to detail and accuracy , • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , • Ability to work independently and as part of a team , • Experience using a 10-key , • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) , • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Nice-to-haves • Experience in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOB) from various insurances , • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) and A/R systems , • Strong background working with institutional and professional revenue cycle areas: billing, follow-up, collections, and self-pay , • Familiarity with the following insurance products: commercial, government, and third-party liability Benefits • Paid holidays , • Tuition reimbursement , • Paid time off , • On-the-job training , • Employee assistance program , • Paid sick time Apply Job!
