Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with unique needs such as dementia, developmental disabilities, and long-term care requirements. This role is vital in creating a safe and nurturing environment for clients in personal care homes or through home community care. Responsibilities - Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. - Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. - Administer first aid as necessary and ensure the safety of clients at all times. - Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clients living space to promote a healthy environment. - Support clients with memory care strategies for those experiencing cognitive challenges such as dementia. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. - Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately and promptly. - Assist clients in engaging with their community through social activities and outings when appropriate. Experience - Previous experience in personal care, home care, or long-term care settings is preferred. - Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. - Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial. - A strong understanding of memory care principles and the ability to assist clients effectively in managing their daily routines. - A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all clients while promoting their independence and dignity.
