Traffic Control Flaggers

POSITION SUMMARY: Traffic Control Technician. Responsible to set up compliant and safe work zone. Controls and directs movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through roadway construction sites using sign and hand signaling devices. Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites. Flaggers are responsible for public safety and make the greatest number of contacts with the public... of all highway workers. BENEFITS: • HOURLY RATE STARTING PAY FOR CREW LEADERS/DRIVERS IS $17 HR. • Paid vacation and holidays 90 days of employment • Health, Dental and Vision offered after 60 days • 401K retirement plan with company matching • Regular reviews and raises based on performance • Hourly rate of $17-$19 HR depending on experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: • Must have a valid driver’s license • Stand in position at the site and watch for road traffic to protect equipment and employees • Control signaling devices and apparatus to safely direct traffic through crossing • Ensure that proper safety equipment is worn at all times at the job sites • Perform other work-related duties as assigned • Ability to receive and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly and courteously • Ability to move and maneuver quickly to avoid danger from errant vehicles • Ability to control signaling devices (paddles) in order to provide clear and positive guidance to drivers approaching traffic control zone • Ability to understand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful or emergency situations • Ability to recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required • Must have reliable transportation • Must be able to work Monday through Saturday • Must be able to work long hours with no restrictions on start or end time • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and in a variety of weather conditions • Must be able to receive, understand, and communicate specific instructions • Must have a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record • Must be able to successfully pass drug test • Must have a clean record of any Felonies for the past 7 years • ATSSA Flagger certificate or equivalent Preferred Job Type: Full-time Salary: $17-$19 Hourly Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17-$19 per hour COVID-19 considerations: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provides; work equipment regularly sanitized.
