Experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher for K-12 Students

Key Responsibilities • Deliver personalized and group instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities. • Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting goals and tracking progress to support each student's growth. • Partner with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to support students’ academic and social-emotional development. • Conduct assessments to understand students’ needs and abilities, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary. • Use virtual teaching tools and platforms to create an engaging remote learning environment. • Ensure all services comply with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines. • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs. • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest best practices in special education and virtual instruction. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). • Valid teaching certification in Special Education in Alaska. • Experience working with students with disabilities, ideally in a virtual or remote setting. • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency with virtual communication tools and technology. • Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
