Certified Medical Assistant - Remote | WFH

Location: This position is fully remote with occasional travel to client locations in the Reading, Harrisburg, and Allentown areas (up to 10%). Candidates should reside within a 90-minute radius of these areas. About The Role... As a Medical Assistant - Healthguide, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing patient care and supporting their journey to better health. You will work remotely but will engage with both patients and their primary care teams to bridge communication gaps, address healthcare issues, and improve overall patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Engagement: Support patients in managing their healthcare by answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting with navigating their care. Care Coordination: Collaborate with medical practice staff and case management teams to manage a designated patient population. Assist in implementing care plans and closing care gaps. Documentation: Accurately record patient medical histories and issues in the electronic health record (EHR). Referral Process: Understand and facilitate the referral and prior authorization processes. Communication: Use various communication methods (calls, texts, emails) to interact with high-risk patients. Escalate medical issues appropriately to the Health Guide Registered Nurse or other relevant contacts. Travel: Occasionally visit primary care physician offices as needed. Security: Follow all policies to protect patient information and intellectual property.

What We're Looking For

Certification: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. Patient Focus: Passion for coordinating care for individuals with complex medical and social needs. Empathy and Skills: Ability to engage patients effectively using motivational interviewing and behavioral change management techniques. Experience: Familiarity with medical terminology, EHR systems (e.g., EPIC, Athena, Cerner), and care management analytics databases. Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desired. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Remote Work: Demonstrated success in a remote work environment.

Compensation

The base pay for this role ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Compensation decisions are based on factors including skills, experience, education, and location.
