[Remote] Sr Instructional Designer - Enterprise Leadership

The Sr Instructional Designer will design, develop, and implement innovative leadership development programs to enhance leadership capabilities throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, and other learning design deliverables. Develop learning solutions using project-based templates. Test and debug deliverables for quality assurance. Ensure leaning solutions align with desired outcomes
  • Coach and mentor Associate Instructional Designers and Instructional Designers, including assisting with onboarding new Instructional Designers and lead and facilitate Instructional Designer development on current and emerging learning methods
  • Partner with Learning Strategy Senior Managers on confirming needs analysis and instructional strategy
  • Project manage individual and team deliverables and proactively communicate milestones
  • Proactively communicate task and project status to client group and management
  • Assist in the interviewing, selection, and onboarding of contractors and associates

Skills

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Passionate about development and have advanced experience with applying instructional design and adult learning principles to create instructional courses, assessments, job aids, and other learning deliverables
  • Track record of finding innovative approaches to develop people, creating learning solutions that use new approaches, and sharing industry trends with others
  • Experience working on multiple complex projects simultaneously and creating deliverables for all phases of the course creation lifecycle, including analysis, design, and development
  • Experience with Agile Learning Development or the Successive Approximation Model (SAM)
  • Self-driven, collaborative, resourceful, and excellent at project management
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other Instructional Designers to develop talent and improve the quality of learning solutions
  • Comfortable taking risks, prioritizing work based on business needs, communicating new ideas to a variety of audiences, being a trusted consultant and partner, and propelling current thinking about development to the next level
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable communicating through technology (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories
  • Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office and standard eLearning development tools
  • Proficient knowledge of project management principles and MS Project
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, HR Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or related field preferred (or equivalent Home Depot experience)
  • Experience in education or learning field, or similar work experience
  • Experience creating training deliverables for retail organizations
  • Experience conducting learning needs analysis and developing curriculum maps
  • Advanced knowledge of eLearning development tools and software (i.e., Articulate Storyline/Rise, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced ability to communicate professionally, provide proper context, and tailor messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work independently (e.g., project revisions, solving issues as they arise)
  • Ability to be detail-oriented in the development and QA of project work for themselves and others
