[Remote] Solar and BESS Project Manager

Samuel Knight Energy is the leading recruitment partner to the utility-scale renewable energy construction sector, supporting some of the most respected EPC contractors and infrastructure companies. They are currently seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in New Mexico, focusing on project execution, commercial performance, schedule, safety, and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale BESS and/or renewable energy construction projects from mobilization through completion
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance
• Oversee project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved safely and efficiently
• Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders
• Drive project execution while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and site teams
• Manage project reporting, risk mitigation, and contractual obligations
• Ensure successful project delivery against schedule, budget, and client expectations

Skills

• Experience as a Project Manager on utility-scale renewable energy, power infrastructure, or BESS construction projects
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, and cost controls
• Experience managing field operations and construction execution
• Ability to lead teams while coordinating multiple project stakeholders
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel and maintain a significant site presence throughout the project lifecycle
