[Remote] Investor Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mortgage Center is a dynamic company in the mortgage industry, seeking an Investor Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling accounts, monitoring compliance, facilitating audits, and ensuring accurate processing of investor-related transactions.
Responsibilities
- Reconciling GSE Custodial P&I and T&I accounts
- Preparing reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts, including balancing, research, and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Researching, resolving, and clearing GSE exceptions, including all hard and soft reject findings to resolution
- Monitoring compliance with investor reporting and accounting, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
- Facilitating audit requests by gathering, validating, and providing documentation for GSE and other Investor Internal and External audits as needed
- Monitoring P&I Custodial accounts to ensure accurate processing of monthly advances, recoupments, and Investor remittance
- Reports payoffs, loan modifications, and corrections to GSEs accurately and timely
Skills
- At least three (3) years of experience in investor accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills aiding your ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (pivot tables and v-lookups)
