[Remote] Lead Cloud Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support cloud-native applications within a modern AWS environment, focusing on solving complex business problems and driving technical innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and services on AWS
- Architect and implement solutions for complex business and technical challenges
- Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications
- Troubleshoot production issues across distributed systems using logs, metrics, traces, and monitoring tools
- Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions
- Collaborate across engineering teams supporting multiple enterprise applications
- Review code, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor junior developers
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides
- Participate in production support and incident response activities
Skills
- 8–10+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in production environments
- Experience participating in incident response and production support rotations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Serverless architecture experience
- GitLab CI/CD expertise
- Experience working within regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government
