[Remote] Volunteer: Governance and Compliance Procedures for Certified Military Financial Professional (CMFP)

VeteransPlus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military and Veteran families, and they are seeking a volunteer to assist in developing compliance and governance policies for the Certified Military Financial Professional (CMFP) certification program. The role involves drafting and organizing key policies that will protect the integrity of the certification, ensuring it serves the unique needs of military-connected households effectively.

Responsibilities

• Help develop the second phase of policies / procedures for the Certified Military Financial Professional (CMFP) certification program
• Draft and organize priority policies including Disciplinary Policy, Records Retention Policy, Recertification Policy, Use of Credential Policy, Continuing Education Policy, Privacy and Data Protection Policy, Exam Security Policy, Candidate Misconduct Policy, Certification Revocation Policy, and Conflict of Interest Policy
• Turn existing framework, notes, and certification program structure into polished draft policies for review by leadership and legal/compliance partners
• Create policy outlines and recommend a standard policy template
• Draft policy language and identify gaps or unclear areas
• Organize final drafts into a usable policy and procedures framework

Skills

• Experience in developing policies and procedures, particularly in compliance and governance
• Ability to draft clear and concise policy documents in plain language
• Familiarity with certification programs and their common practices
• Strong organizational skills to help structure and organize policy documents
• Ability to identify gaps or unclear areas in existing frameworks
• Experience in creating policy outlines and recommending standard policy templates
