[Remote] Clinical Laboratory Operations Director

The Clinical Laboratory Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of laboratory services, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing financial activities, and leading laboratory projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Writes, reviews, and ensures compliance with all Laboratory Administration Policies and Procedures
- Manages the contracts of the laboratory departments, including working with the Legal and Procurement departments on negotiation activities
- Leads and monitors the projects of the laboratory to achieve successful implementations within the established timeline
- Performs HR-related duties as needed for direct and indirect reports. This includes but is not limited to annual performance reviews, new employee orientation, and addressing of performance and behavioral issues
- Financial Management activities, including:
- With the VP of Laboratory Services, establish annual capital and operational budgets for the Central Laboratory
- Review and address monthly budget variance reports
- Work with the Facilities Department to address any building-related issues
- Effectively manage relationships with the vendors of products used in the Laboratory
- Lead/Participate in Service Recovery activities as needed
- Provide effective communication via all modes needed to lab staff, practice staff and clinicians, and others as needed
- Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times
- Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company’s business needs
- Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient’s rights, safety, billing, human resources and collections. Adhere to all Company, departmental, and IT policies and procedures including the Disaster Recovery Plan
- Maintain laboratory in compliance with certifying agency requirements
- Keep work area and records in a neat and orderly manner
- Maintain all company equipment in safe and working order
- Projects a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor
- Additional tasks as needed to support the team
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Licensed as Clinical Laboratory Supervisor by Florida Department of Health
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in laboratory medicine
- At least five (5) years of supervisory experience demonstrating progressive responsibilities

- A Master's Degree is preferred
- Second language is an asset but not required
