About arenaflex – Empowering Finance Teams with Flexible Expertise

arenaflex is a forward‑thinking partner that enables midsize and rapidly expanding public and private firms to achieve the same level of financial excellence as Fortune‑500 companies—without the overhead of a full‑time, in‑house finance department. By delivering fractional finance resources, arenaflex helps clients manage high‑volume transactions, maintain rigorous compliance, and drive strategic insights while keeping costs predictable. Our mission is to eliminate the stress and bottlenecks that arise when finance teams are stretched thin, and we do it by matching the right talent to the right task at the right price.

For more than a decade, arenaflex has built a reputation for rolling up its sleeves and becoming an integral part of our clients’ back‑office operations. From basic bookkeeping to CFO‑level advisory and SEC reporting, we provide a full spectrum of financial services. Our collaborative planning process—“measure twice, cut once”—ensures flawless execution, superior data quality, and measurable value for every client.

Why This Role Matters at arenaflex

As a Data Entry Specialist you will be the backbone of our data‑driven finance solutions. Accurate, timely, and well‑organized data is the lifeblood of financial analysis, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision‑making. Your meticulous work will directly support the finance teams of our clients, enabling them to focus on high‑impact activities while trusting that their data foundation is rock‑solid.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Every Day

  • Maintain comprehensive, up‑to‑date records of tasks, files, and project progress using arenaspecific tracking tools.
  • Perform final quality checks on completed work, identifying and correcting errors, duplicate entries, or inconsistencies before submission.
  • Conduct systematic web research to locate and extract relevant financial information, market data, and regulatory updates.
  • Review and interpret reports, spreadsheets, and raw data sets to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Enter, update, and validate information across multiple platforms, including Excel spreadsheets, proprietary databases, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Flag incomplete documents, request missing data from stakeholders, and follow up until all required information is obtained.
  • Cleanse data by verifying, correcting, or deleting unnecessary entries, and merge data from disparate sources into unified records.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external clients to clarify data requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills by prioritizing tasks, meeting tight deadlines, and managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Continuously improve data entry processes by suggesting automation opportunities, template enhancements, and workflow optimizations.

Essential Qualifications – What We Require

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; an Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation) and Word. Ability to quickly learn new software applications, including accounting platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or comparable mid‑level systems.
  • Accounting Foundations: Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles, general ledger concepts, and common financial terminology.
  • Accuracy & Speed: Consistent typing accuracy (minimum 70 wpm) with a keen eye for detail; ability to spot and correct errors in large data sets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English proficiency; capable of drafting clear emails, notes, and documentation.
  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information responsibly and ethically.
  • Multitasking Ability: Proven track record of juggling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high quality.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Experience working in a finance or accounting department, preferably within a fractional or outsourced services model.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and data‑migration tools.
  • Exposure to financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and basic SEC filing processes.
  • Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or a related credential.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving mindset—identifying root causes of data inconsistencies and proposing corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in collaborative team settings.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data trends, spot anomalies, and make data‑driven recommendations.
  • Organizational Excellence: Systematic approach to managing files, version control, and documentation.
  • Technology Agility: Comfort with cloud‑based collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams) and willingness to adopt emerging data‑entry technologies.
  • Time Management: Prioritization of tasks to meet daily, weekly, and project‑level deadlines.
  • Professionalism: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability in delivering consistent results.

  • Opportunities to participate in cross‑functional projects, gaining exposure to audit preparation, SEC reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Certification sponsorships (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Microsoft Office Specialist) to enhance your credentials.
  • Regular performance reviews that focus on skill development, career pathing, and personal growth.
