[Remote] Network Automation Engineer (ONT and OLT)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Noblesoft Technologies is seeking a hands-on Network Automation Engineer with expertise in fiber access technologies and strong Python development skills. The role involves working directly with network devices to analyze configurations and develop automation solutions to optimize operations in a telecom access network environment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with access network devices (ONTs and OLTs) to analyze configurations and operational data
• Develop and implement Python-based automation scripts based on live device insights
• Troubleshoot and optimize fiber access network performance
• Interface with central office and customer premises equipment environments
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve network efficiency and automation coverage
• Ensure secure and compliant access to network infrastructure

Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with ONT (Optical Network Terminal) infrastructure (primarily in central office environments)
• Strong hands-on experience with OLT (Optical Line Terminal) systems at customer or field locations
• Proven experience in Python programming for automation and scripting
• Ability to independently access devices, interpret configurations, and develop solutions
• Familiarity with telecom access network deployments
• Experience with Nokia and/or Calix network equipment
• Background working on Verizon-like environments or similar (e.g., VNM-type roles)
• Knowledge of network provisioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
