General Education Teacher | Painted Post, New York

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Teacher for a full-time contract position, working 37.5 hours each week with schools in the Bath, Hornell, or Jasper-Troupsburg area. In this onsite-only role, you'll have the opportunity to inspire students and help them discover their artistic voice in a nurturing educational environment. Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid New York State Visual Arts Initial Certificate
- Background in general education instruction, with a focus on visual arts
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with school staff
- Ability to adapt art curriculum for various grade levels and learning needs
- Experience in classroom management and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging art instruction to students in accordance with New York State standards
- Develop lesson plans that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Foster a supportive, respectful classroom culture that honors diverse perspectives
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the educational experience
