Business Development Senior Manager - Southern California

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 Annually

Purpose of Position

Del Monte Foods (DMC Foods Inc.), the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, is seeking a Business Development Senior Manager – Southern California. The Business Development Senior Manager – Southern California will be responsible for the successful achievement of the ongoing Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, and Shelving objectives established each fiscal year for the accounts within their responsibility including: Albertsons So Cal, Albertsons Southwest, Smart & Final, Bashas’, Stater Brothers, and UNFI.

Position is remote (home-office based), however, only candidates within the Los Angeles, CA area will be considered

Accountabilities

Achieve Fiscal Year Financials

  • Direct & Deliver key financial metrics versus AOP sales with an aligned trade spend plan

In-Market Execution & Customer Development

  • Develop customer specific objectives in support of the Company’s strategic plan
  • Achieve new item, assortment, pricing, and merchandising objectives set forth for specific customer objectives

Direct and Drive JBP Partnerships at Appropriate Levels of Customers

  • Merchandising - Achieve annual and key event merchandising objectives
  • New Items - Deliver new item objectives
  • Pricing – Manage everyday pricing within Go To Market Strategy (GTMS)
  • GDPs – Grow GDPs/maintain share of GDPs => than SOM (key segments)
  • Execute assortment & shelving initiatives/customer category reviews to improve shelf presence
  • Drive market share in select categories and sub-categories in line with corporate objectives
  • Shopper Marketing program coordination where applicable
  • Effectively engage and leverage cross-functional resources (Customer Development, Shopper Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) to exceed/achieve business objectives with assigned customers

Capabilities

  • Own development of business, utilizing cross-functional resources such as Category Management & Insights, Shopper Marketing, Customer Finance and Business Intelligence Analytics, to drive volume and share growth
  • Leverage Customer Development to translate, integrate, and activate Consumer strategies into key customer-level business plans

Customer Meeting Support

  • Coordinate and attend sales/review/innovation presentations at assigned customers
  • Collaborate with Category Management and Customer Development to deliver best-in-class presentation materials and insights for business meetings
  • Create meeting cadence with Category Managers, Coordinators, Directors and other key cross-functional partners

Minimum Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 years of region or headquarters retail sales experience within CPG Industry
  • Strong understanding of Fiscal Year Sales Planning/Execution
  • Experience with AOP & JBP Planning
  • Experience with Trade Spend/Trade Fund Management
  • Analytical experience utilizing insights into business development recommendations
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Customers (Albertsons So Cal; Albertsons Southwest; Smart & Final; Bashas’; Stater Brothers; UNFI)
