Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Clerk, you'll be responsible for accurately inputting information into our systems from a remote location. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering invoices, statements, reports, personal details, documents, and information from employees, other departments, and clients
  • Scanning through information to identify pertinent information
  • Correcting errors and organizing the information in a manner that will optimize swift and accurate capturing
  • Creating accurate spreadsheets
  • Entering and updating information into relevant databases
  • Ensuring data is backed up
  • Informing relevant parties regarding errors encountered
  • Storing hard copies of data in an organized manner to optimize retrieval
  • Handling additional duties from time to time
  • Typing in data provided directly by customers
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
  • Updating existing data
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk (although not necessary, it's a plus)
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

While not necessary, experience in data entry or administrative assistant roles can be beneficial.
