Olympic College is continuously recruiting for Instructional Tutor positions that may occur throughout the year for various departments. This position will be responsible for helping students develop abilities in the discipline in which they are working. Disciplines are based on student needs and will include Biology, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, and Writing. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for a period of 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Essential Functions
- Providing academic support for students in one or more non-stem related subject areas.
- Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.
- Assist students in interpreting discipline-specific problems and situations.
- Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and/or communication skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student.
- Completion of course(s) to be tutored with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.
- Basic computer competency.
- Demonstrate excellence in tutoring subject area.
- Follow campus regulations local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Work various hours.
- Work successfully in high-attendance, high-volume study centers.
