Job Summary
Dominion Energy is seeking a Manager GIS - Natural Gas Operations to join our team. This manager is responsible for overseeing all GIS operations within Dominion Energy Gas Distribution (Ohio, North Carolina, and Utah).
The incumbent's three main areas of focus in this role will include: * Oversee the migration to Esri Utility Network and ensure that GIS teams are prepared and trained on this new software and that stakeholders are updated on a regular basis on the status of the migration project and ensure that effective management of change is addressed.
- Champion the use and implementation of GIS tools and applications within Gas Distribution.
- Identify opportunities to use Esri based tools to support compliance activities related to pipeline safety.
- Manages staff responsible for the management of data in Gas Distributions GIS mapping software.
- Responsible for prompt processing of work requests, thorough project/as-built reviews and accurate posting of edit sessions.
- Manage the relationships of business systems interfacing with GIS data through the review of exception reports.
- Establish an association and thorough understanding of the business needs of internal and external customers relying on accurate asset data.
- Manage work through distribution of assignments.
- Develops and maintains an effective union/management relationship.
- Administers local union contract and Human Resources policies to address employee and labor relations issues.
- Maintain data integrity through the development of a departmental training program
- Oversee employee development.
- Publish monthly progress reports detailing performance status on initiatives critical to the business.
- Oversee the preparation of high-quality graphics and maps utilizing GIS data for internal/external customer use.
- Manage system enhancement projects.
- Manage consultants in the development of GIS tools and applications.
- Manage changing and emerging business needs.
- Develop strategies for new technology and associated business processes to enhance the overall GIS and records strategy for Gas Distribution.
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years directly related experience or
- Associates Degree and 10+ years of directly related experience or
- High school diploma and 12+ years of directly related experience.
- 3+ years supervisory experience.
- Directly Related Experience includes: Field Operations, pipeline safety, integrity management, construction inspection, utility construction/design experience, GIS, project management, or quality control experience.
- Skills: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication, decision making and problem-solving, leadership and teambuilding, time management, strong computer skills.
- Abilities: Effectively lead and motivate staff in a team environment, plan and prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working knowledge of labor relations, effectively manage resources, develop effective technological strategies
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to drive.
- Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years directly related experience or
- 3+years Natural Gas Distribution/Transmission pipeline operations experience or
- 2+years Pipeline Safety experience or
- 2+years GIS experience
