Responsibilities

As an Airport Customer Service Agent at blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Greeting and assisting all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner over the phone and in person, ensuring that every passenger feels valued and respected.
  • Announcing both incoming and outbound flights, providing clear and concise information to passengers.
  • Handling credit card and personal check transactions with accuracy, properly accounting for all collections and conducting airline close-out procedures.
  • Accepting and processing checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs. and placed on conveyor belts, ensuring that every piece of luggage is handled with care.
  • Operating jetways to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lifting, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations.
  • Utilizing airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents, lost or damaged baggage documentation, and cargo tracking information, ensuring that all passengers have access to the information they need.
  • Standing and working in one location for up to four hours at a time, maintaining a high level of energy and focus throughout your shift.
  • Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport, providing a safe and supportive environment for all passengers.
  • Working independently without direct supervision, using your initiative and problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise.

Requirements

To be successful as an Airport Customer Service Agent at blithequark, you will need:

  • To be at least 18 years of age
  • To have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, and a high degree of attention to detail
  • To be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • To be able to stand for long periods of time, with the ability to lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds
  • To possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone
  • To have entry-level computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize airline computer systems
  • To pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check required by federal law
  • To be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a flexible schedule that meets the needs of our airline partners and airport operations
