TFEC is intentionally growing our team of Indigenous mental health professionals to work with FNIM clients. Mental health is always a priority for both individuals and communities and TFEC is seeking professionals who understand and respect Indigenous cultures and values through lived experience. • Provide clinical psychotherapy to Indigenous children, youth, adults, couples or families.
• Conduct clinical counselling to clients over the phone and via video conferencing.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on the needs of the clients.
• Facilitate open or closed psycho-educational groups.
• Produce professional quality clinical notes within 3 business days

Job Requirements:

• Must be First Nations or Inuit.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct counselling experience
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling skills and theory as it relates to Indigenous children, youth, individuals, couples and families
• Training and experience in preferred modality; EMDR, EFT, CBT, Solution Focused, Critical Incident, Narrative, DBT, Healing Wheel, 7 Grandfather Teachings, etc..
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex cases
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and paperwork
• Fluency in other language is an asset

Educational Requirements and Credentials:

• Master’s in social work (MSW) or Equivalent (preferred)
• Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador or a Registered Clinical Social Worker in British Columbia or Alberta.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
