Position Overview As a Mail Processing Operator, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages according to federal regulations and guidelines. You will also provide top-tier assistance to customers with their mailing needs and efficiently resolve any problems they may experience. In addition, you will execute various administrative tasks to bolster the functionality of USPS services and aid individuals in acquiring postage stamps and miscellaneous mailing provisions for their mailing obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mail Handling: Receive, sort, and distribute letters, packages, and documents according to federal regulations and guidelines
  • Mailing Support: Provide top-tier assistance by aiding customers with their mailing needs and efficiently resolving any problems they may experience
  • Execute various administrative tasks to bolster the functionality of USPS services
  • Aid individuals in acquiring postage stamps and miscellaneous mailing provisions for their mailing obligations Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may require higher education qualifications, such as a college degree, for eligibility for promotion into managerial roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a mail processing or customer service role
  • Knowledge of USPS regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with USPS software systems Skills and Competencies
