About the Role:

We are looking for a Permanent Full-Stack Team Lead to join our Research and Development team. This is a remote role, open to candidates based in Ireland. You will work on a critically important product used in more than 35 countries, helping professionals prepare for and respond to any type of emergency, from winter storms and severe floods, to oil spills, corporate crises, and even astronaut rescue operations.

You will initially join the team in a more hands-on capacity, gaining familiarity with the project and the existing team. Over the first 2–3 months, you will gradually transition into a team lead-focused role, taking responsibility for managing a team of five.

While you won’t be coding as heavily as the developers, maintaining strong full-stack skills is essential. You will use them to guide technical decisions, mentor team members, and step in when needed to unblock progress. You will play a key role in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and ensuring that deliverables meet both technical and business requirements. Key Requirements:

  • Experience leading a team of full-stack engineers
  • Deep JavaScript and TypeScript expertise, with a plus if you have worked with Node.js or React
  • Comfortable working across the full stack, from backend through to frontend
  • Experience designing and architecting technical solutions
  • Ability to navigate complex systems and requirements

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with mobile app development (Ionic Framework)
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps principles (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with real-time, offline-first, or GIS/mapping applications
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., CouchDB, PouchDB)
